What is Onelo?

Onelo is a single SDK that provides the standard parts of a paid app — sign-in, payments, tax, a customer portal, feature flags and monitoring — so an indie developer does not rebuild them for every project. It runs on web, iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux.

Is Onelo a merchant of record?

Accepted Answer

No. Payments run through the developer’s own Stripe account and the developer remains the seller of record, so the money lands in their account. Onelo calculates EU and UK VAT per buyer and can issue invoices, but it does not take over the seller role or the tax liability.

How does Onelo handle EU and UK VAT?

Accepted Answer

VAT is worked out per buyer from the country they are in. Below the €10,000 cross-border threshold a seller charges their home rate; above it Onelo applies the buyer’s country rate and supports OSS. Prices can be set gross (the buyer sees the same number everywhere) or net (VAT is added at checkout). If a sale would require a registration the seller does not hold, Onelo blocks that sale rather than charging the wrong VAT.

How much does Onelo cost?

The free plan costs nothing and needs no card: it includes sign-in, the store, the customer portal, tax, invoicing, feature flags, feedback and a roadmap, with a 7% transaction fee. Pro is €29 per month with a 2% fee, Business €99 per month with a 1% fee.
