Set up your business

The first-time walkthrough — from an empty account to your first sellable app, in five short steps. You only do this once per business; every app on the same Stripe account inherits it.

Step 1 — connect your Stripe account

Your first Stripe account is connected from an application's Stripe tab — pick your business country, click Connect Stripe, and complete Stripe's onboarding (identity, bank account). Its tax profile then appears under Settings → Payments & Tax → Tax Setup, where “+ Add Stripe account” adds further businesses. If you pause halfway, the account shows a • setup badge — click Finish setup to resume.

Why Stripe first? The Stripe account is your business in Onelo — it sets your country, receives your payouts, and carries the tax profile every app will share.

Step 2 — say whether you charge VAT

Pick “Yes — I charge VAT” or “No — I'm exempt” (your country's small-business exemption), and fill in the number field(s) that appear — the labels match your country (NIP, BTW-id + KVK, VAT No. + CRN…). These numbers go on every invoice.

Step 3 — choose your reach (start simple)

Your home country is already on. For a fresh business the right choice is usually “Selling only up to €10k” with the recommended block ticked — no registrations needed, EU consumers pay your home rate (or 0% if you're exempt). Leave B2B and the UK off for now; each is one toggle when you need it. Save changes.

Growing already? Jump straight to the right scenario: OSS, EX, B2B, UK.

Step 4 — check the live preview

One row per buyer type, reflecting your settings instantly — green means 0% (legal), blue means VAT charged, red means that buyer is blocked until you add a registration. If every row looks right, you're done here.

Step 5 — point your app at the account

Pick the account under “Stripe account for this app”, choose who this app sells to (Consumers / Businesses / Both), and Save changes. That's the whole per-app part — full guide in Sales setup.

You're ready to sell. Defaults handle the rest: Onelo Tax (free) computes the VAT from what you just set, and buyers get Stripe's payment receipt. Want proper invoices or a national provider? That's two choices on Tax & Invoicing and Integrations — anytime, not today.
